Each week, I have been summarizing my adventures in making music. Lately, I have been composing tracks for the Disquiet Junto, the Naviar Records Haiku Music Challenge and, this year for the first time, Weekly Beats. I also have other projects and collaborations I have shared occasionally. This blog primarily contains slightly annotated posts originally found on Mastodon.

This track is entitled "Incredible" for the fact that I got it done! This week involved some work travel and my birthday along with all of the festivities, so I had very little time to dedicate to music production.

This week marks the first time I used samples from BandLab Sounds. I have posted more than a few times about using Splice samples in my tracks, but I do not have a current subscription, just a library full of samples that I haven't used yet. It's just that now I am at the point where I am looking for new sounds and not ready to re-start a subscription. I found the BandLab Sounds library to function similarly to Splice and so far I am pleased with the selection and workflow. I imported what I found into Ableton Note while I was on the road and created all of the patterns you hear. When I got home, I had time for some minimal mixing and arranging.
